MOSTI, UPSI, and Pixlr Collaborate to Empower Youth Through AI 4 Belia Program

The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), in collaboration with Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and Pixlr, launched the AI 4 Belia Program, an initiative designed to equip Malaysian youth with essential AI skills to enhance their marketability and employability. Held at Dewan Sri Tanjung, UPSI, the program attracted over 100 youth participants, who learned how to utilize AI in various aspects, from prompt engineering to creating full marketing and communication videos using AI tools.

Building on its commitment to digital empowerment, Pixlr, a Malaysian-owned company pioneering AI-powered design tools, continues to play a pivotal role in fostering digital literacy across Malaysia. By partnering with MOSTI, Pixlr is at the forefront of democratizing access to cutting-edge AI tools, empowering Malaysian communities to thrive in the fast-evolving digital economy.

Citing the Future of Jobs Report 2020 by the World Economic Forum (WEF), YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, emphasized the transformative potential of AI. While 85 million jobs may be displaced by 2025, AI is expected to create 97 million new roles, underscoring its capacity to reshape—not replace—industries. “Youth are the backbone of our nation’s future, and initiatives like AI 4 Belia ensure they are prepared to lead in high-tech fields such as Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Robotics, and Cybersecurity,” said YB Chang Lih Kang.

A Nationwide Movement for Digital Transformation

The AI 4 Belia program exemplifies MOSTI’s vision of integrating Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) into everyday life, empowering youth to leverage AI for entrepreneurship, business optimization, and data-driven decision-making. As part of this initiative, Pixlr demonstrated how its AI-powered tools can simplify workflows, enhance creativity, and enable innovation across industries.

Elevating the program further, Pixlr and UPSI formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate AI into education, revolutionizing the education landscape. “We’re thrilled to contribute to this transformative initiative, ensuring the education sector has access to AI tools that drive innovation,” said Warren Leow, CEO of Pixlr.
